Like the calm before the storm
I can feel a change begin
Storm clouds are quick to gather
As emotions stir within

The winds are gaining strength
Thunder begins to crash
The sky was just so clear
The storm is coming fast

We quickly search for shelter
It's not safe to stay outside
We look in all directions
But there is nowhere to hide

The storm is just too great
It's bound to leave it's mark
Rain clounds consume the sky
Light instantly turned dark

We are now both exposed
Standing in the pouring rain
We cannot outrun this storm
Our love built this hurricane

Lightning ignites the sky
For a moment lights the day
Riding emotions high and low
Engaging in nature's foreplay

Why not just surrendder
If my eyes could speak they'd say
As they stare intensely through you
As if my vision were x-ray

The rain now dies away
Storm clouds start to decay
We no longer are astray
Walking down a clear pathway

No more need to hideaway 
Or cause further delay
Because those feelings we downplay
Can now be put out on display

To think it almost slipped away
The happy ending to this day
Once pawns for nature's play
Creating a love that's sure to stay

Turns out the storm we saw
We actually carried deep within
This was not your typical love
But a storm concealed in skin

I enjoyed your poetry and in particular the illustration of one's inner feelings!

I really liked this poem. I liked how you used a storm as a metaphor for a turbulant relationship, and how together in that relationship you weathered the storm. I think all relationships require work, and I think that this represents that.
