A Forlorn Heart

A Forlorn Heart

A Poem by Naval Tharun

Hear! The wind whispers the words I should have
as my forsaken heart bleeds regret
Untold emotions sear my mind
as the soul craves for another chance

Distant have I become, filled with desire
to look again into those eyes, this time without fear
My life would know joy again, in your embrace
A forlorn heart, abandoned by fate

Your cheer reminds me of what I lack
I can make you mine, but I dare not
Unworthy of love, my inaction’s justified
You deserve more than me - a shattered mirror
