Inside Me

Inside Me

A Poem by Naval Tharun

Clawing me from inside, tearing away my skin
A faithless animal, snarling, crying in pain
Struggling to escape, bound in chains
Pure anger, despair and disdain
A power of darkness, a beast inside me

Shrieks escape my lips, pain blinds my sight
I hold it back lest the world cower in terror
Savage madness fills the mind, utter chaos is all it wants
It know not friend from foe, the world is the enemy
Standing alone, the beast inside me

It becomes me, when the world doesn’t see
I let it free to consume me, my darkness...myself
I revel in the power I feel, invincible, beautiful
I look around, I see
The beast...its me

Amazing imagery and the visual that you've included makes this even more powerful and profound. I truly look forward to reading more of your work. Incredible, to say the least!

Thank You!
Accepting the beast within can set you free. Still trying to allow myself to do that.
