The Girl Who Never Played Outside

The Girl Who Never Played Outside

A Poem by Levi Levin
"

Inspired from a true story in my life.

"
The Girl Who Never Played Outside

I passed by the place all the time
Such a pretty little girl lived inside

I only saw her go to and from the car
Never did she dare to go very far

But children are made to run and play
They should never be doomed to stay

I wonder if she would like to play outside
I wonder if she is happy inside

No hide and seek
No kitty’s to find and keep

No exciting stories to tell
No fun slides and rails

One day I will move and be gone
But I shall never forget the little girl who was done wrong

Very true Pat. Thanks for stopping in.
That's a terrible life for a child - girl or boy, to live. In fact it isn't living, it's near total isolation. Youth is for learning how to socialise, how to enjoy being alive, laughing, looking at the all around and discovery. If of school age, why haven't the authorities enquired about the little one's absence from the classroom? It's a tragedy in the making, needs sorting. :(

True indeed.
I see that you wrote it, after-all.

You frame it so that the girl isn't allowed to play outside, which is just wrong.

This is tender and emotional.
So sad that she never went out to play. Perhaps she was shy, maybe a little afraid.
I truly hope she's okay.

Your thoughts caress softly around me and my heart.
