The Great American Divide
America today has faded from The America of yesterday It’s now black against white and white against black, What happened to the days when your fathers shot hoops as boys? And when your mothers set together and played with their toys? When a homeless man was one of us And giving food to the poor wasn’t a crime, Those days are fading and near gone In America we’re singing a new song The Republican and the Democrat are enemies alike Aren’t we all Americans? So what’s the fight? It’s United We Stand and Divided We Fall In the land of liberty and justice for all, Join together as brothers and sisters in the land of the free or we will fall someday longing for “I have a dream!” © 2020 Levi LevinReviews
