The shards of my heart

As I look down I see these crimson red shards of my heart in which I held 

I kept my head down because of the embarrassment I felt 

I squeeze the shards so tight 

And hoped the pain would end tonight

I open my hand and see that hey bleed

It never felt so good to cry, even though I still love you, yes indeed

I stare at the crimson red shards of my heart

And remember what a beautiful work of art 

It once was but then you came along

And ruined it 

Now my voice is nothing but a sad song 

everything seems so bland 

except for the bright crimson red shards of my heart in my hand
