Beautiful heartbreakA Poem by Keturah IpaliwanIt’s like I don’t know you anymore, I see your face, but I see someone else; The spark in your eyes is gone, And the warmth of your touch has grown cold. It’s like I don’t know you anymore, You speak but it’s not you who’s speaking; The tone of your voice has more hate than love, And the melody that once used to calm me, now haunts me. It’s like I don’t know you anymore, What was once beautiful is now ugly; The once magical story has now ended tragically, And once again, the prince has the princess, but the princess is not me. The damsel is still in distress, And the hero is nowhere to be seen. It’s like I don’t know you anymore, The picture that was once filled with colours is now faded, The sun receded and the rain came falling. You get the girl; I lose a friend and a lover. I’m left alone to nurse my wounded heart, but you’re no longer near to help me like you always do. It’s like I don’t know you anymore. © 2017 Keturah IpaliwanAuthor's Note
