Oh, What Wonderful Youth

Oh, What Wonderful Youth

Not a really *good* poem... but one that makes me happy.

Oh, What Wonderful Youth

Happy, sunset-back-dropped walks

Stupidly climbing playgrounds

Burning delicious smores in smoke

Racing to and from stop signs

Eating six cookies for the heck of it

Lounging on a couch watching an old movie

Grabbing her hand and ignoring the future

Saying things I’d regret in 10 years

Being too loud during games

Jumping across creeks along bridges

Laughing at jokes no one would understand

“Welcome in, Youth, make yourself comfortable

And don’t feel the need to ever leave… ever.”

Aww❤️❤️❤️
So much nostalgia interwoven in this piece. As each word was read, smiles couldn't help but to surface.

Gee
Sad thing is youth and childhood leave us far to early only to be replaced with all of life's "serious"
I'm lucky that I'm now at an age when I can start to enjoy the fruits of many years labour and can afford to be daft.
Enjoyed the read James.
