Show Me an Old Tree

I’ve walked around this earth

27 years hasn’t changed my mind

Nothing is different since birth

History hasn’t changed my kind

I have one small request for me

Because I haven’t seen one in so long

Show me aged bark, show me an old tree

Life’s destroyed my composure

Perverted my perception of love

Made me cold due to exposure

Turned my eyes away from above

I have one small request for me

Because I haven’t seen one in so long

Show me shrivelled leaves, show me an old tree

Men and women of my day age

Turn their backs, show no heart

Stories are the same on every page

People are quitting right after the start

I have one small request for me

Because I haven’t seen one in so long

Show me gnarled roots, show me an old tree

Love can’t hold up against time now

Relationships are constantly ending

Because no one is willing to allow

Their time to others be lending

I have a small request left without grace

Sitting next to me under an old tree,

Show me the face of a loving face

Am I new? Yes. How old am I? Why would I ever say. Where do I live? Like it says: the Canadian bit of Antarctica. Will I accept read requests? I guess *shrug* as long as you comment on my stuff.. more..
