"Living Asleep"

A Poem by JamesTleBourn
"

Shall I wake up to face the world when still / I lay sleeping in fields of crimson sheets / Why leave this realm of sleep, and cross that hill

"

Shall I wake up to face the world when still

I lay sleeping in fields of crimson sheets

Why leave this realm of sleep, and cross that hill

And face mankind so cruel: kills and repeats

May I please stay in this blameless, blank world

That only slumber can render to us

To get a reprieve from pain that hearts furl’d

Stay with my true friends- illusions shown thus

I retreat to this world in my head now

To love and not worry for a heartbreak

To swim among things that my thoughts allow

Not to avoid reality- to wake

But I know one day I will return there:

The land of Men for true love and despair

Am I new? Yes. How old am I? Why would I ever say. Where do I live? Like it says: the Canadian bit of Antarctica. Will I accept read requests? I guess *shrug* as long as you comment on my stuff.. more..
