Very beautiful. Sometimes things or people that become broken, remain broken.

One of my favorite places to visit in America is the town of Gettysburg. It was the turning point of the Civil war in 1863. There is so much of it that has remained untouched. Cannon balls still in the walls of the houses, bullets still being found in the fields. There's spirits there that will never leave. Your poem reminded me of it because despite everything that's happened there, it's still one of my favorite places on Earth and I just can't understand why. Hundreds of tourists go there a year and take tours of the battlefields and walk around to the monuments. But I feel like I'm right back there in 1863, in the middle of the war. I don't know, just a thought. Long story short I like your poem, a lot. I'm sure it makes everyone feel something different, but it brings me back to 1863.

Thank you for your kind words, Annie! Stay safe and keep writing.
The ending does not rhyme, needs more thought and tears of frustration. Read some more literature to improve your vision of the world and hence nuance your understand of themes such as mankind verses nature. Reading other texts will not make you lose your touch, it will make it stronger.
keep track of your syllables.

As for syllables, I just counted and all have 10 except for the 12th line. What made you think otherwise (examples?)
It is absolutely beautiful! It reminds me of eating lasagna and being hit over the head with a baseball bat. Thank you so much!

Your poem reminded me of the bombed sites in the city of London, where tiny flowers would spring up in the chaos. London pride, they were called. There is always beauty, even in ugliness. Mother nature reigns supreme. That's where you took me with your well crafted lines. Great work.

Am I new? Yes. How old am I? Why would I ever say. Where do I live? Like it says: the Canadian bit of Antarctica. Will I accept read requests? I guess *shrug* as long as you comment on my stuff.. more..
