The Lux-miror GigantumA Poem by JamesTleBournA young boy remembering the tales of legendary giants from long ago.The Lux-miror Gigantum O’ Lux-miror Gigantum, I learned of you as a child Your stories told by old Bards had all made me smile You captivated me, declared your rule without me to allow I remembered your descriptions then, and I remember it now: The Giants of Light, The Giants of Wonder Danced ‘til dawn, as the world turned asunder- Stretched for the stars, even when men spoke lies Considered the constellations, knowing evil that would arise Lived all their lives, albeit the darkness of the night Nurturing all nature, regardless of its carnivorous fight O’ Lux-miror Gigantum, where have you gone? Leaving me to this dark world, leaving the all-to-young fawn Show my eyes where you are, so that I may discern and know So I shall then find you where you went many ages ago
Take me away from here to your rolling fields I want to know your people and what it wields Uproot me from this barren land of death and dark I would take the journey and gratefully embark Fill me with your passion that only wonder can create I was not born for this corrupt world, your kind is my fate O’ Lux-miror Gigantum, I beg of you to return to my world I want to see all the beauty of your kind unfurled I want to see the majesty of your towering figure of worth I want to see the light and wonder, lux et miror, returned to the Earth
