Power In MeA Poem by Nathan BarettoShort poem about the underlined abilities in us.
The stage shines bright, but speaks to a dim tone and despite a full crowd, my mind is alone I feel a flutter, a whoosh! Could it be? Flying away are the papers I need! no problem, no worry, I say to my hands until half of the crowd erupts into bands The pressure surrounds me, increasing to the minute The brain alarms buzz off:"I say we just wing it!" So I think, and I pace, and remember a line And another, and another, until it becomes nine! The crowd is so stunned, a frenzy no more If my words were in order, well I couldn't be sure! Yet as I finish I realize just how and it's not the words scribbled or even the crowd it's something so subtle, yet something that's key It's simply the power that's vested in me! © 2017 Nathan BarettoAuthor's Note
