The Joker

The Joker

A Poem by Nathan1289
"

Sometimes a smile is the greatest form of a mask.

"
Your eyes are decisive, staring as you act out the way in which you'll play.
Your calmness is addictive, and settles me in a new-found way.

That smile is confusing, and so to the message your sending out.
At first you grant an inch, later you cast the doubt.

Our interests seem to be aligned, yet you often argue the toss.
Sensitive on the outside, yet that shell is easily lost.

I find my head filled with words, a tale that must break free.
I ache to hear a question first, where is your interest in me?

I hear you whisper shadows and ghosts upon the rainy hill.
If smiles were weapons, yours is atomic, a blast that's sure to kill.

You're the enigma that plays with minds, and win you often do.
However, I've seen the warnings early on, thus I need to break on through.

Your eyes are alluring and your smile is disguising the hate.
I wanted to be your friend, yet now I long to emancipate.

You are The Joker and I see your cards, a hand that you play well.
However, I'm the silent Knight that you'll learn to fear, a taste of your own hell.
