The silence is the friend in which I have the most faith Because I know for sure that it won't ever give me away.
I really dislike these so-called "talks" Where I ever tell you - nothing at all. I won't admit anything to noone. Couldn't you just leave me alone? ~~~~~ Because if you think I would confess, Admit my failures, admit my weakness Then you couldn't be expecting less: Your undertaking will meet no success ~~~~~ For I rather speak to the silence Because it's such a faithful friend One that never lies, decieves or betrays: I know the silence won't give me away ~~~~~ To the silence, I can talk about my problems With the silence, I can share my many secrets Fully knowing I can do so without any regrets Because I know it will keep each one of them For the silence is an utterly secretive one The most reticent that I have ever known. ~~~~~ The silence won't ever frustrate my faith, Won't pass on anything I secretively say It wouldn't ever put my secrets on display Because the silence gives nothing away. ~~~

Slightly edited, but not much.
Dedicated to: The silence.
This poem is quite significant, because it marks the end of ... something.
After I published this, I didn't publish anything for about 4 months. Then I broke the silence. But ever since, I haven't really finished much of what I wrote.

On each work you post you never fail to impress me. The silence does give nothing away but it doesn't give anything back. Trust is a difficult thing when it is put into the wrong person but with the right one it is rewarding. There is sadness underneath as well as if the person wanted to talk but was afraid to. Very nice as usual! :)

Befriending silence and solitude does go hand in hand, and though both are undoubtedly faithful friends, they are not very helpful nor are there any benefits.
It does require courage to break the silence, and with all my heart I hope anybody who is too scared to open their mouth will find the strength to do so eventually.

What a fabulously expressed poem. My dear Nath, this onr is sheer brilliance! Boy have I missed you! The depth of your words are refreshing dear friend!
In the Silence, hope remains, for Silence can never ever, betray!
I do agree that of course "the silence gives nothing away" but it also gives nothing back, I know first hand that putting your trust in someone other than yourself can sometimes be very difficult but it can also be very fulfilling when you find that person you know you can trust. I think that this is a very strong poem which although is very true for many has an underlying tone of sadness. Anyway, your a poet and a poet can never be silenced because we just always have something to say, that simple lol. Great work as usual!!

You need to know what you are looking for - someone to just only listen or someone to talk to. Trusting is difficult at times, but nothing compares to a good talk to someone faithful, a monologue is a pretty lonely conversation. And solitude is sad, no doubt about that, at least I surely don't have any. Yes, we are poets, and nothing screams louder than a poem! Thank you for the review
I like the personification of silence in this piece, its very well thought out and very well executed. The form is nicely held and the rhymes are nicely conveyed. Very nice work.
each and every poem that we write never ever finished in itself..its just we that finish it! somewhere it just goes on and on! a beautiful message in there nath!
A haunting and strong poem. Talking to people you really trust is a good thing but we are so afraid that they will judge us sometimes that we stay silent. Also silence will not tell our secrets, but then again a secret that is hurting you is not a good thing to keep locked up. I would encourage someone who needs it to seek help but I do understand this poem very well.
