One English Summer

One English Summer

A Poem by Nath
"

Clouds, Summer Rain and Tears

"

Happiness is

A moment of bliss -

But alas, moments pass,

They are over so fast!

So enjoy them while they last,

Before they are out of grasp.

We each took some of the other's firsts

Lived in a bubble bound to burst

Come September, this must end!

But while it's summer, let's pretend

That Britannia's cloudy skies

Never changed from day to night,

That time stood still, even as it flies.

So soon indeed does a month pass by

Because the sun rushes, in disguise

Behind the clouds. And so time runs,

Is running out, and soon I'll be gone -

Time will come to cry "Goodbye!"

The ending of this English summer

This rainy summer, cold and wet

Wish it was some days longer yet!

Wish time didn't pass so fast

Oh, never ever shall I forget!

So let's just live now without regrets.

They have already counted our days in the sun

But while it lasts, let us just enjoy this fun

Soon nothing will be left but cloudy skies

When autumn comes, we’ll both be left to cry

And never will we touch or even speak again.
