Thinking of what to do post completing your B.tech course? This is a thought that comes to the mind of most engineering students as their course draws to a close. While some students think of further education, others think of taking up a job. The course of action ahead is a matter of individual choice, but there a few things that every engineering candidate must know before taking a call on what to do ahead.

If you are interested in experiencing the professional world and are not ready for studying immediately after completing your B.Tech course, you should take up a job. Campus placements can help you get a job of your preference. Most colleges have tie ups with reputed corporate entities for placements. These companies hire freshers directly off the campus and offer them jobs as trainees or interns. If you are up for a job, then the campus placement should be your focus post the course.

If you are not interested in working immediately after college and want to pursue a higher degree in your subject or in related subjects, you can easily do so by signing up for an MBA or M. Tech course. There are several B.tech colleges in Delhi, which can offer you a higher degree in the subject that you wish to pursue.

For those who wish to explore and find their true calling, there are a variety of subjects that you could pursue. There are certain B.Tech Biotechnology colleges which can offer you a higher degree in Biotechnology and related sciences such as Microbiology, Bioinformatics. You could also take up an MBA degree in Bioinformatics, which deals with the application of computer application to living science.

There are several other options that you could consider:

1.

You could set up your enterprise, alone or with associates and friends. Gathering funds could be a challenge, but if you are really interested, you could think of loans to set up your business.

2.    You could prepare for the Civil Service examinations. The Civil Service examinations are the most coveted examinations in the country and can serve as your big ticket to the hot shot administrative offices in the country. Although this examination is tough to crack, you could easily prepare for it with your knowledge from your B.Tech course.

3.     Defense forces are always on the lookout for dedicated and talented engineers. You must have seen advertisements announcing the recruitment of short service commission officers by the Army, Navy and Air Force in leading dailies. You could join the technical section of these forces with your B.Tech degree.
