Negligence towards health can cause us deep trouble. In order to lead a healthy life, it is necessary to have a rich diet, full of nutrition and an even richer physical regime. We have learned since our childhood that how much importance the correct balanced diet has in our life. Essential nutrients can be acquired by consumption of the right food and by following effective home remedies.


The most essential nutrient requirements of the human body consist of vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and water. A moderate intake of these will ensure a healthier and thereby a wealthier life.

Carbohydrates are the most necessary source of energy for the brain. These include fruits, breads and grains, although one must make sure to consume only whole grains and fibrous fruits. Fresh fruits consumed in the fruit form rather than juice form, have higher fibre content. Proteins are the chief building blocks for muscles and tissues. Dairy products (mainly fortified milk, yoghurt, cheese) nuts, legumes and meat are the best sources of protein. Fats can be divided into saturated and unsaturated fats. One should limit the intake of saturated fats which are consisted in meat and full-fat dairy products. Vitamins play a vital role in maintaining strong bones. Citrus fruits are a great source of Vitamin C. Eggs, spinach, almonds are rich in Vitamin D. However, deficiency in vitamins has become a common phenomenon today. If the food intake does not provide sufficiently to make up for the required nutrients in the body, it leads to deficiency, then it becomes inevitable to take health supplements with prescribed medical advice to maintain a balanced level of nutrients.

Apart from the above mentioned things, water is one of the most important components involved to be healthy. Water plays a major role in keeping the body hydrated and evacuating toxins and waste products from the body. Eating by colour is also a magical cue to a healthy life. Including foods of different colours can work wonders for the body. Food is a natural medicine and it boosts our immunity system. One should avoid saturated fats, refined grains and processed foods in order to have healthy eating habits. These are some of the tested home remedies and can help one improve their quality of life.
