Don't turn a blind eye-Child Abuse

A Poem by Practically Enchanted
"

About Society denying child abuse.

"

You can say you looked the other way to avoid your unease.

You can say you tuned me out so as not to hear my pleas.

You can say you saw the bruises but chose not to cry.

You can say you felt my pain but turned a blind eye.

You can say you heard my screams but never thought to try.

You can say it was none of your business but that would be a lie.

You can say whatever you would like but please don’t sink so low

as to ever say you were unaware or that you didn’t know!

Love your poem, and it's definately needed. The one part I found was not matching in syllables was, 'but turned a blind eye'. Maybe 'you can say you saw the bruises but you chose not to cry, you can say you felt my pain while turning a blind eye'?
My poem A Child To a Teacher is VERY similar. Please review it when you get a chance. I want to see what you think and if you think they share a theme.
