Welcome Home

Welcome Home

A Poem by Natalie C

Rescue me from myself

From a decaying mind

That is running wild

Inside I am dying

Do not turn around

You might find me crying

Falling further away

Frozen within my self made hell

At the point of braking down

The venom has already spread

Might as well declare me dead

So pass the bullet

My six-shooter is fully loaded

Welcome me home

Lay me to rest

Within the blood stained pins

Where I have made my nest

There is no denying it

This person who used to be, is losing it

With a twist of fate

A simple cut of the blade

She constantly falls

Stumbles through walls of false hope

To disturbing places

Where words cannot mend

Things already broken

Unspoken devastation filled with darkened desires

Grabs hold of a saved life no more

Constantly they choke with forceful delight

Until you know, that you are home

Back upon crimson paths as the darkness laughs

Their obscure pleasures once again a part

Of a soul fallen in the middle of their hearts

Wow very heavy image left to linger in my thoughts. I always respect and enjoy that about your words. The have a way of lasting and stay with me and my thoughts long after the read. I liked the darkness of this and the way it played with a scene that appeared so easily in my mind. I felt a coldness of a reality you painted here and the way it seemed swarm around like a dust cloud embracing everything it touched. Very deep I really enjoyed this

Great Job!!!!!!

The image is chilling.. the words are sad and desperate in a sense...you are a master with the dark poetry..
Good writing .. cold and chillingly brilliant.

I've been thinking about death a bit recently and life seems pretty temporary all of a sudden (maybe something to dy with last Tuesday's melt down). A while back I would not have been able to get my head round the idea of home being anywhere other than the next minute, but now... I can see how the heaped up aggravations of this place might make another place seem preferable. Is is nature's way of preparing our minds to accept our fate somehow? I thought 'decaying mind' a strong thought. Have also been thinking about how our minds age and maybe do decay much as we can go bald without really noticing it. So the poem is dark, but there is a reality in it, too. Enjoyed thinking things through.

This has been so well written. I feel the chill down the spine.
The coldness was strong enough to creep inside and grab my bleakly pounding heart. I really like how it flows and what it says.

Excellent.

Very, very powerful words - the imagery very vivid and real. I felt as though I was loosing a grip on my soul as I came to the end, hearing the laughter in the darkness of my mind.
Again, you have written a very powerful and vivid poem - your mastery of words never ceases to amaze me.
Outstanding!
