Community in Ruins

Community in Ruins

A Poem by Natalie C
"

The shock, the horror, the GREAT return

"

In the ashes we sit

As our cozy community’s walls

Came tumbling down

Unexpectedly, right before our eyes

No one could have ever foreseen

The horror that would meet us

On this now, such a tragic day

Wandering around the pages

Aimlessly, we try to collect

All the pieces of our souls

Which we have left on these pages for all

Yet all is not lost,

We still have each other, don’t we?

And as with any other community

We will overcome our grief- together –

As writers, we are strong

We grow together

Even with all the growing pains

We experience from time to time

From these ashes, we will rise

Specially those who do decide to stay

And we will once again fly

So yes Charles…

Made a tragic mistake

But maybe, sometimes we need a disaster

To realize that we can still find comfort in each other

The words will once again flow

Underneath the spider tree we would all be

And this day …

Long forgotten

Great poem, it was almost like the great crash of the cafe was like a terrorist attack, instead of humans being lost it was our words. (although it seems tacky of me to compare the crash to something like 9/11) but my point being was the whole shock of it happening never thinking it would!

Love your words, they speak to the heart of what has been lost, and the endless roads that we can now go down!
Yes this was bad but we must go on, if nothing else this will will teach every one to back up their work on their own PC.
So now lets go forward on to new roads, some old and remember every thing happens for a reason. Perhaps this will give us all a chance to rewite or rework or make anew.
Thanks Natalie have a great day

Yes, I agree and writer's are used to catastrophe's which is why we like to write! Good poetry!

Excellent heartfelt write for those within our community. Lucky for me, I only had a few good writes that are no longer with me, but I must move on! I hope others, even after seeing this peice will the find the courage to do the same.

This is sad...even I, being a new user, had a few poems that will be a pain to replenish back on this system...but your poem so eloquently states the facts.. A NEW ERA or just weeping over the error..we do have a choice.~EXCELLENT!~ B

Yes, I believe this is a very heartfelt poem on this issue. We can and will rise up from the flames and live to fight another day though. For me especially, when I try to remember the poems that are no more, I feel that losing them was done as an act of God, telling me to look to the future, plan out new writing, move on in life and start to acheive.
In some respects I guess Charles has that hand of God feel - He who has total control and we all operate under him. I think he has created a wonderful experience for us here and we should cherish that.
The destruction of the community writing is a terrible thing but I'm sure with the number of creative minds here we will live on and prosper once more. Thank you Natalie for an inspiring read once more xx
