Community in Ruins

Community in Ruins

A Poem by Natalie C
"

The shock, the horror, the GREAT return

"

In the ashes we sit

As our cozy community’s walls

Came tumbling down

Unexpectedly, right before our eyes

No one could have ever foreseen

The horror that would meet us

On this now, such a tragic day

Wandering around the pages

Aimlessly, we try to collect

All the pieces of our souls

Which we have left on these pages for all

Yet all is not lost,

We still have each other, don’t we?

And as with any other community

We will overcome our grief- together –

As writers, we are strong

We grow together

Even with all the growing pains

We experience from time to time

From these ashes, we will rise

Specially those who do decide to stay

And we will once again fly

So yes Charles…

Made a tragic mistake

But maybe, sometimes we need a disaster

To realize that we can still find comfort in each other

The words will once again flow

Underneath the spider tree we would all be

And this day …

Long forgotten

Great poem, it was almost like the great crash of the cafe was like a terrorist attack, instead of humans being lost it was our words. (although it seems tacky of me to compare the crash to something like 9/11) but my point being was the whole shock of it happening never thinking it would!

I'm glad I clicked online for a few minutes to catch up. Excellent and very well said.
What can we do but re-post, re-build and write new. In a way, it was a forced spring cleaning, self evaluation.
I for one will definately not go anywhere, I'm here, having made new friends and enjoying the community too much to leave.
I sure would hate to be Charlie though ... had to really suck for him when he realized what he'd done.
Feel sorry for the guy.

We are the misfits the free thinkers of society and this is the place we have chosen to call home. The mistake that was made can and sill be over looked and we will go on. It is hard to silence the the one minds of a group of strong a talented writers that have graced this spot on the internet. I am glad to be a part of some of the most brillant minds I have ever ran across in my life on here. This is a wonderful community of writers whose talent exceeds what is so called gracing the main stream published market. Everyones grammar might be off from time to time.....but, that in my mind does not make anyone us of less writers because what we write comes from the heart not because we are trying to make some deadline......so I tip my hat to every single writer out here whom pours thier heart and soul into thier pieces.........we shall write on!!!!!!!

Aye, I totally agree with yee. Arrgh, thar may take our hearts, bloods, books, pens, and our perfect words, but thar shall nev'r take our BEAUTIFUL SOULS!!!! We shall, once again, prevail, and shall stand triumphant like never before!! Arggh, sounds thee trumpets & trombones, and sings thee Beethoven's 9th of Joy!! lol, absolutely brilliant poem!! You have echoed the deep sense of loss and horror we experienced when we lost "pieces of our soul". But you are right we do have each other and we will rise again from the ashes.Very inspiring and beautiful!
