![]() Honesty SlipsA Poem by Nat![]() People get annoyed of my opinions all the time even though I just try to help them.![]()
Honesty slips but with the world screaming,
It sinks into the quiet. People say my voice is etched in bold, With a subtle italic in every sentence, I speak. People say my voice is courageous, fluid, in tune. But, sometimes, people speak too soon. Compliments turn to insults. Blades of truth. My eyes can't lie, What shall I say? What can I do? People say they want opinions when they really support Want the truth but lust for flattery. What shall I do, But be coerced? As soon as my brain converses, My words turn worthless. With loneliness that has come before me. Born from misjudgments and insecurities I sit silent. Only to be asked to speak again. But my voice stays quiet.
