A Poem by Natalie Wisecraft

What you see

Is not what you get

You see a pretty face

But I can be ugly

You see a warm smile

But I am cold

You see me laugh

When I want to cry

I hold it all in

With a cap on the top

And let it out

But no one cares

They think I'm crazy

They think I've always had it all

But what they don't know

Is that I would rather

Be ugly on the outside

But pretty within

Look cold

But be warm

And laugh so hard

That I start to cry
