Haunted

Because of you...

 

My memories are haunted

My thoughts are clouded

I can never forgive you

For hurting me

 

All I ever wanted

Was an apology

But instead

You made me feel that I was in the wrong

 

One foul night

Was all it took

To change my life

Into something I hate

 

You took away my trust

You took away my hope

You threw away my friends

But I should thank you

 

Thank you for making me strong

Thank you for making me powerful

Thank you for making me try

Harder than ever before

 

Because of you, I am successful

Because of you,  I am happy

Because of you, I am able

To take on anything and anyone

 

But still, I can never forgive you

You showed me you hated me

When I loved you so much

 

It hurts more than words

But what I hate most is

You took a part of my life

That can never be returned

WOW...intense. It's really sad in the beginning and I thought it was going to have a tragic ending too but then you went into what you learned from the situation. I like how it shows you can be strong and learn from such a hard time that a person gave you. Great poem! :)
