Occult

Occult

A Poem by Narshada

Stare up at the stars
Do you really believe they shine just for you?
In a universe given
Belatedly realising
The fit is just too tight

If I inhale as you speak
Can I eat your words?
If I smell your skin
Can I taste your death?

Always rehearsing
A play that already started
With no end but our own
In the line of sight
Of a line of light
Traced back to its origin

If I hear what you say
Does it change what’s real for me
Especially if I don’t believe?

Trapped in my head
I can’t be you
You can’t see me
I’m hidden behind
This veil of skin

Let’s go out and run
Against the turn of the world

The stars go out
 As the curtain falls.
