Yearning for Departed

I wrote this poem about yearning for the return of departed. Sometimes, when someone leaves, your life completely changes and you learn to live without them and their return is more difficult to accep

Though we long for their return,
Will time and emotions still burn?
Can we be sure of the same intensity,
Or will their arrival bring no glee?

The departed, they say, will come back,
But can we truly follow that track?
Their absence leaves us with grief and pain,
Yet their return may bring no gain.

Oh, how we yearn for their familiar face,
But will their arrival bring a different embrace?
Perhaps their presence will not bring delight,
But instead, stir up emotions we'd rather not ignite.
