Growing Up

Growing Up

A Poem by Naomi
"

Memories of when I used to play in the sun; oh how life was so fun, back in the day. No Worries, No Problems and No Stress! But now things are different. Times have changed.

"

Picture memories of when I used to play in the sun...
It was all about having fun.
Eating sandwiches and sausages inside hot dog buns, with mustard and ketchup squirted on top.

Days such as these were the best days. Especially relaxing and chilling with the family.
Going out to the beach and travelling out
to places, that was all I ever wanted to do.

Then as I got older, things started to change.
Hormonal changes were one of the many, but I began getting mood swings.
I would stay up late in the night, then when I'd wake up, a book and pad would be laying beside my me, on my bed.

My mind was expanding, my eyes were opening, things that were once closed, started to open.

Everybody was busy, no one had time. The only time some families would spend time together would be around half past nine (in the evening).

Slowly all of these things started happening; I wanted it all to be a dream. But I couldn't cause I was no longer a kid. I was a teen, a young adult, a woman, who was slowly growing up.
