This was an excellent write. It had the sort of twist to it that comprises the appeal of an O'Henry short story. But with precision strokes that carve the work like a sculptor might chip away stone. The style is very intriguing and the finished product lacks nothing.

Wow i feel honoured to be compared to him...actually am a big fan myself, and it could have been that his style rubbed off a little bit on me too! Thanks again!
Everything feels so soft, filled with the lilting music of life in every hue of yellow. One can feel the brushstrokes on the canvas, can taste the warmth, can sense the beauty. Until the last words steal our breath with the absence fierce and vast.

You paint, with your evocative words, a picture full of promise and richness. And then, the wait. Everything waiting. He did not come. All the more disappointing because of the anticipation. I bet the picture began to melt, a bit like some surrealist paintings! A good poem inspired by 'The Crystal'

Gentle and kind storyteller for love. I loved how you used the words. Allowed the reader to feel and understand the words. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

It appears the Mademoiselle has learned a sad fact of life. Some men have a tendency to skip out of their promises. And she looked to make an impression too, all for naught.
the melting butter...so much like her heart I bet. I like the picture and you've given it a life and a story, albeit sorrowful.
Nice one Moon. :)

Thank you so much, Relic!! I look forward to reviewing you asap 😀
You've created such a glorious scene! Life full of delights, scents and flavours. How enticing, how aware: is the woman waiting.. inhaling excitment from all around her. And then.. then the emptiness, the fading.. how sad.
Loved the personification of the sun. You set the scene so exquisitely....I felt as though I was there and wanted to hug her when he did not show. Wonderful work! Lydi**

Thank you so much, ma'am...i am glad the character could draw empathy... :))
this reads so beautifully despite the disappointing no-show after waiting although sometimes the anticipation is the best part. "Lemon-scented afternoon.
The marmalade Sun"
"The air was heavy with music, and her
lily white hand
lingered steady
on the wine glass." - most excellent write. i could picture the scene. :)

If you're a dreamer, come in
If you're a dreamer, a wisher, a liar
A hope er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer,
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin
