Yellow

Yellow

A Poem by Moonie
"

~The wait~

"
Lemon-scented afternoon.
The marmalade Sun
(my fond Mademoiselle)-
intemperate,
with a fine white hat
sat
eavesdropping.

The air was heavy with music, and her
 lily white hand
    lingered   steady
on the wine glass.

The golden breads,
the melting butter,
the shy silverware--
All sat in wait.

It was horrid.
For he did not come.

This was an excellent write. It had the sort of twist to it that comprises the appeal of an O'Henry short story. But with precision strokes that carve the work like a sculptor might chip away stone. The style is very intriguing and the finished product lacks nothing.

In realms of unknown beauty I have discovered the tear of your soul.
Great imagery. The character's disappointment is felt. Nicely executed.
