Spring

Spring

A Poem by Moonie
"

~spring~

"
We dream of fearless landscapes,
of tall prairie grass and guitar acoustics,
washing down the heat,
and the loss we feel.
In a single gulp, we swallow
                this melancholy laden air...

Spring is here.
Its venomous empty promises
on the winds, I hear...

I suppose its something inside us that holds no promise for change or improvement even though spring is a symbol of renewal over the blues of winter. Sometime the blues stays longer than expected, becoming an all-too-familiar pattern.

Love your poetry.

Welcome friend :)
whoa - I was floating on gossamer here then you whipped the magic blankie away and I came a-crashing to the ground with a thump! Two sides to every season - I think we sometimes forget that in the clamour to welcome some colour into our erstwhile blanc world.
The eloquence here is unmistakably moon-like Naomi.
"fearless landscapes..." - wow! I wish I'd written that.

you're welcome Naomi :)
I can feel the emotion in your words...the longing..the frustration "venomous empty promises on the winds" - a brilliant line. I enjoyed this darker look at spring.

The only problem with this wonderful poem it ended to soon and somewhat abruptly. I had to read it several times only to enjoy it more and more. Off we go into my library! Bravo Moon's fairest daughter!
