May Those who are Born After MeA Poem by Nao Deguchi
If I were close, I would whisper The long drunken eternity Of the rapture you have never felt And you would melt A salt girl to her body A gentle man to his prime And I would kneel, and you would rise And I would serve you And not sleep and dream Of idle things or inconveniently Obscure the simplicity of reality But the slow moon sinks And the geese-song comes The fields are wet with dew And the hours follow The mountain path Where I will never be led To you, down the centuries Gazing at your pillow O’, how I know your thoughts.
