Like Salt in the Air

Like Salt in the Air

A Poem by Nao Deguchi

I enjoy myself so fondly

That I stay up all night

It is not for me, but the nature of me

Like gathering violets in the valley

So I do with my thoughts

My spirit conjures and breathes

Enough to fill my blank hours

With a pure love so intense

I cannot easily describe it

It is the velvet beyond intention

A soaring of being without realization

A simple ecstatic wholeness

Immersion, ripe with surrender

That I pick the young greens

Of my subconscious through the snow

To taste the light, at the tip of my darkness

The snow, you know it will melt

The night, it will bleed full of unity

And I will enjoy myself again

Tomorrow, I may choose to do it again.

About
I will go to great lengths to encourage writers of Asian origin. Of these, Indian are my favorite. They have a beauty of sentiment that is not replicated in english. I do not like to leave a trace.. more..
