On the horizon of the new worldA Poem by Nao Deguchi
On the horizon of the new world We stood, like idiots For what seemed like centuries Somehow the brave mystics Couldn’t get the century right When the supposed change Would occur, we were born Like babies so full of light And in the surprise of the superhuman We were invariably disappointed With the baser elements Of our human nature The wretched state like Buddhists Complained, of tea-pot suffering Though we stretched often To feel the pacific calm, sea-blooms For the weary work of our little lives Swimming green, in watery radiance The antique reflections on Heaven From Than the posing of the middle-class On the horizon of a new world With her ambrosial latitudes A prelude of deeply sunken souls Rising from the pale silver of technology Age of Aquarius, nonchalance divine Night tilted beyond all dates Time cajoled to express mortal anomalies A lifetime spent chasing chinese-turquoise Decoding the tongues of ancient-fruit.

Of these, Indian are my favorite. They have a beauty of sentiment that is not replicated in english. I do not like to leave a trace.. more..Writing
