To Seal This

A Poem by Nao Deguchi

Now I remember you built me

A special place in your heart

I remember it so well, because

I never found such a place again

It was the south side

Of the bridge of my joy

Where I would fight in fellowship

For happiness, like I concluded

Wasn’t worth it, when you left

Drunk with hope, I could have died

Among your garland of little offerings

The thousand bright flowers

Of your girlhood, the easy pleasing

Dynasties will survive

In the temple of my heart

Though there is no season

That comes again, called  First Love.

About
I will go to great lengths to encourage writers of Asian origin. Of these, Indian are my favorite. They have a beauty of sentiment that is not replicated in english. I do not like to leave a trace.. more..
