Every Way Imaginable

Every Way Imaginable

A Poem by Nanu
"

I recently read Norwegian Wood and The Fault in Our Stars. Two very beautiful books. It made me think about the loss of a loved one and how to keep going. If you haven't read them, you really should.

"

I have dreamt of you

In every way possible

In every world imaginable

I have dreamt a different version of you

But in all those possibilities

In all those realities

I have felt as though something was amiss

As though in every dream

In every world

The sky seemed darker

The stars dimmer

And the moon smaller

Never had it occurred to me

That this here

This life we have now

This home we have created

Was worth more than every dream

I had ever dreamt

Every life

I had ever imagined

And nothing in those moments

Could ever replace you

Even now

As you slip through

Life, embraced by the

Cold Fingertips

Of Death

I will always choose you

Among the infinite possibilities

Of every you

Imaginable

Author's Note

Nanu
I have not experienced the actual process of losing a partner, so I apologize if this in someway offends anyone. Sometimes I feel too deeply about things and so I write about it, even though I have never experienced it myself.
