Whole

Whole

I borrowed this soul...
But half of it is missing.
Dare I search the crowded streets and broken sidewalks to find it?
I fear I can't...but I must.

The night was so cold, it nipped at the hole in my chest...
The hole that yearned to be whole again.
Then I smelled it...
A fragrance that tantalized and teased the blood that flowed like a broken dam...
And so I followed this alluring aroma.
Tasting its tiny dew drops of essence on the twilight's air.

And there you stood.
Simplicity in a world of complex visions and blaring neon lights.
My Heaven.
The open arms after a long journey.
The Rainbow at the end of my storm.

A door was opened in my incomplete heart...
it bid for you to enter.
But...why didn't you hear it?
You must not have heard it.
I fear my feet have rebel against me.
I stand dwindling in the way of last minute dinner shoppers,
primpering and preening prom beauty queens,
Blue tie, brief case, board meeting business men and women
and loving gazes of lovers locked in lingering lust.

I willed you with my mind to see me.
To hear the impatient beat of my heart.
To smell the alluring aroma that floated like a phathom through the air, and helped me to find you...
But you are trapped in oblivious thoughts...
Watching the world go by...
Searching with heavy laden eyes, a wounded heart and an incomplete soul...
For The other half that will finally make you whole...
