Twilight's Tears

Twilight's Tears

A Poem by Nansi London
"

written Oct., 2nd 2007... felt like I've only just written it

"

The heavens’ unsullied tears collect at the tips of my  lashes...
Threatening to dip them selves into my eyes and dilute my salty tears.
They invade the warmth in my clothes and kiss my skin with a lingering chill...
It bids me to close my eyes and marvel at the pleasant sentiment.

Grey, distended clouds give birth to single droplets,
And I am the one to catch them all, in the minute paws of my skin.
Licking gingerly and persistently down my body and coaxing a smile to life...
They are so keen to greet me in their own special way...

I need no shield from there onslaught.
'Tis one I will gladly fall victim to.
And as they beat softly against this pallid face of mine...
I will sing to each drop of rain and welcome their company.
