Logic, Emotion

Logic, Emotion

A Poem by Jonathan Hoy
"

In this i am writing about a current conflict within myself, Its more story oriented rather than poetic, but i feel it still has a poetic feel to it. I tried going for a medievil type of iamgery.

"

A battle rages deep inside the bowels of man
A continuing struggle to decide
Do i listen to my head,
Or my heart?

The battle-field lay before them
As the rain pours from the sky
Like the heavens are weeping
Only one side can be victorious

The kings meet, to resolve their conflict peacefully
Both sides arguing, a tug of war
No side wining, no side losing
The outcome is decided, there will be blood.

Both sides line up, getting ready to charge
A silence comes accross the battlefield
Adrenaline is pumping, Bloodlust is rising
A faint scream is heard "CHAAAARGE"

The shields clash, as both sides meet
Swords flailing, spears flying
Arrows taking their toll from above
Just as soon as it started, the battle is over

The only question remains, which side is victorious?

I like the medieval feel to the story poem. By asking the final question, the relationship is related to the title of the poem-- to decide by what rule dicates choice. The reader becomes a co-author of meaning which makes this poem an intriguing read. Sabine*

I write these to express a strong emotion i am feeling, mostly because if i dont then it will consume me. The way i write is more literal in meaning rather than having symbolism, so it is very clear i.. more..
