Story of a Child PoetA Poem by NankotoAuto-Biographical poem for school.
Here’s the story of a poet And all his unheard struggles Those old and those new Memories fade over time Some lost forever But there are the ones who stay It is simply amazing How much we as humans change How much I’ve changed No longer do I feel like an outcast The kid always picked last Too afraid to speak up and be noticed Too scared to speak his mind or show his emotions Afraid of the judgment of others Just a scared little boy What I’ve become is so much more I’ve come so far Though the battle is not over But many victories have been won I no longer care what people think No longer care if I am judged Though those would not be possible if not for them My friends who have been there through thick and thin Thanks to you all Many battles still need to be fought But they will come later For now I am happy Content with life’s blessings And all those around me I must be the luckiest kid alive To be graced with such great friends Like brothers they are to me Reminiscing on the past And the Poets most treasured tool His writing A great gift for Him to use A place to lay emotions bare And just reflect what is on His mind A close friend to listen to Him when he needs it most When He is struggling with His sorrows No matter what He says it will always be there Never to leave His side Alas this chapter comes to a close But this is not the end But only a great beginning Doors behind Him close only to reveal another in front Entering the unknown future With bright eyes Great foresight The biggest grin And no more worries © 2008 Nankoto |
