20 Years Past Due

20 Years Past Due

A Poem by Nance

There’s that vacant

space

sustaining nothing real

carved out hollow

jagged sharp as steel

spikes and nails

reach everywhere

meeting

who should not be

fire climbs everywhere

damning, smiles and

silently swears

in a chaos

of a city aftermath

she wont ask why

untruths spoken everywhere

tangled and unwise

life lives unevenly

while love robs us blind
