My God, Your Gun

My God, Your Gun

A Poem by Nance

My god
your gun
Shoot the horse
you rode in on
Arrogant
a broken conscience
busted as the windshield
dead as the feelings
in a cemetery
creepy as a mexican bat
My god
your gun
shoot the horse
you rode in on
at the end
in the havoc
lies what was
your labyrinth
calculating
designed to confuse
more than one
My god
your gun
shoot the horse
you rode in on
my part of the chaos
I deeply regret
you walk this world
sanctimonious, silent, vague
I loved a tornado
a menace in reign
unapologetic twister
lying in wait..
