This is a short story divided into two parts (basically the perspectives). I am not very well with Romance genre. Inspired by someone's story

'Her version'

In the dimly lit lab, surrounded by stacks of notebooks and humming equipment, they’d carved out a moment of play. She held the prize "a small vial with a neon sticker "just out of his reach, teasing him as he leaned closer, determined to win their silly game. With a sudden, playful grab, he caught her hand, and as he pulled her close, she stumbled forward, her head landing gently against his chest.

Her laughter stilled as she felt the steady, warm rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her ear. It was surprising, grounding "a feeling she hadn’t quite expected. He froze, glancing down, his cheeks flushing slightly as he realized just how close they were.

His arm instinctively steadied her, holding her gently. Her face softened, and in that quiet moment, she felt safe, something she hadn’t realized she’d been missing.

He cleared his throat, attempting to brush it off with a smile, but his eyes betrayed him. They were warm, sincere, holding a hint of something unspoken that made her heart flutter. As they pulled apart, she handed him the vial, her fingers lingering in his just a moment longer than necessary.

His smile deepened, and he softly whispered, “I think we make a pretty good team.” And for the first time, she truly felt the quiet magic of belonging.
