Indifferent Earth

Indifferent Earth

A Poem by Nami FallingDewdrops

Little by little the growing ego
The fiery-eyed fury
devours the world,

in gentle whispers
that hide and harbor
shards of black iron
and crimson razors,
as the smell
of forged, hot steel
curls into a blue sky
in invisible waves
and pregnant silence.

Ebony screams
go unheard and unheeded,
for the ravenous beast
oh-so-subtly sours
the cool, sweet air
with the nauseating aroma
of coppery-sick blood,
as the ruby-eyed raven
masticates the dove
in a dizzying frenzy
of cold-steel insanity,
never seen...
never heard...

by a busy, bustling,
indifferent Earth.

Yes, we tend to get so consumed with our issues and work that we ignore problems in our society. Your poem points out the danger of brutality that one being can inflict upon another.

You also point out how life depends on Earth for survival, yet the Earth cares not whether an organism lives or dies. It's interesting to think about life from this perspective.
