Pen and Paper

Pen and Paper

A Poem by Namaa Hammond

Standing with one foot on the bridge
Impatient and unbalanced
Departure in which I have led
I now fall spinless

On ink and paper will I release
Unspoken whispers I want to scream
Weakening me to my disease
Drowning me into the coldest stream

On ink and paper will I release
Bridges to the frozen seas
Freezing me down to my aching knees
The unspoken words i have concealed

Staying strong 6 feet off the ledge
And my wrists are on fire
My wings have been poured down and drenched
Resistance drown me faster

Flying down to reach the final pit
Cold as a stone i stand still
Unbreakable but carved is my name
Burning down the two stone hill

Into the grounds my pieces slowly sink
Leaving me dust and mold
Deteriorate in the wind
My heart will not stay cold

Traveling down the blackest wire
Losing my way to sane
There I stumble upon the white cold fire
Light of an oncoming train

Trapped am I, in a black hole drought
Sand in the hour glass
Cannot dig my way out
So i break through into a darker route

Very good , a release, writing a balm yet the darkness stays.

nice job! it had a steady flow and it reminded me of why i write. i write because its an outlet and a release. it gets out all the things i cant quite put into words outloud, but what i can put on paper. thanks for writing this :)
