The Seashell and The Shore

The Seashell and The Shore

A Poem by Namaa Hammond
"

To love is to let go.

"
Broken seashells crash in the bore
They land and glisten on the ocean shore
As I lost my way swimming into your soul
I found myself buried in a hole
I want you to understand my dear
The gift I sent behind your tears
As I drowned, I did not give up on your trust
I helped you clean up your courageous dust
Your heart breaking tears and dilated eyes
Showed me your love in which you would die
The further we swam the more I cried
Until I let go of the love that finally dried
Another pill will bury my sorrows in sand
Into the symptom of tomorrow's land
Your footprints I walked beside, hand in hand
Seems like yesterday we were linked with this band
When I let love, I must let go
For you were the one whom I bestowed
Now I have learned a lesson to be taught
Never battle a love that had already been fought
Stranded alone I shall remain at sea
How long will it take to find the life for me?
I will dump another pill down the hole
Hoping my guilt and conscious die with my soul
Numb my emotions and feed my empty gullet
As you said for me, you would jump fifty bullets
Like a feather in the wind, you chased me until the end
You were the moon who lifted the tides
I was the sun giving you warmth and light
You set my soul and emotions on fire
How could we not beware of nature's dire?
I am the pain whom melted your sorrows
The sorrows that will make you grow stronger tomorrow
Please learn to let go and love will follow
