Lasting Memories

Lasting Memories

A Poem by Namaa Hammond

The moonlight defies his soul in my eye

A wind so thin crawls under my skin

His soul and life is why I cannot die

For he I can complete life with

A wall of cement cannot prevent

A bond so strong even at dawn

The hour strikes ten and come forth a scent

It is he who my growth had spawn

The air is calm, my hands in his palm

Rustling leaves and I hear him breathe

Our roots belong when we hold each other strong

Through trees and grass, we exchange our laughs

His eyes remain in my coldest of days

With auric energy of his passionate love

Whose arms remain a shelter in plains

Keeping me in no question of trust and such

On his chest I lay my cheek to replete

Tattered and torn, a place called home

Listening to the sound of my other heart beat

In the dark and cold I am never alone

In the park and stone we carve our bodies

Tracing each layer of sedimentary

The skies retract of all colors, complimentary

Remembered were the nights of lasting memories

Its very intimating & loving piece of art. The last lines seems to be prefect with one "Remembered were the nights of lasting memories"

I love the words you use and the imagery they make. The fifth verse is my favorite.
