When I Was Younger

When I Was Younger

A Poem by Jean Calvin

When I was younger
I could never understand why the older boys
Were older then me,
Though they were nine and I was seven.

When I was younger
Everyday was like running through a vast meadow
Where the wind blew laughter,
Instead of tears.

When I was younger
I was actually happy unlike now
Thinking what it was like,
When I was younger.
