Don't Wake Me Up

Don't Wake Me Up

A Poem by Jean Calvin

Let me ravage my sheets
As I slip into unconciousness.

Plagued by a scream of nicotine
Since I smoked one cigarette too little,
And I wanted more
As the scent of cloves bounce from my breath to my nose.

Horrified by visions of my own apocalypse,
Or hopes
That only want to lie to me,
Though I'm the wizard who conjurned them up.

Don't wake me up,
Since I don't want to sleep.
