Penny

Penny

A Poem by Jean Calvin

Lost copper
Absent-mindly tosses
On misshapen concrete.
Confused and lonely
In a place
That just doesn't understand
What life is like with two sides.

Only a lone stranger
Can offer salvation,
Tossed in a dark corner
With others
Who understand.

And that's enough for me.
